Multiple Projects for Consumer Products

Vision

Trigger was commissioned to work on multiple projects for Simoniz and Honeywell Consumer Products, focusing on packaging design, TV advertising, and national press campaigns. Each project required a unique creative approach, from designing high-impact packaging for a premium car care range to developing an engaging TV commercial and an interactive press campaign. These projects played a crucial role in launching new products, driving brand awareness, and increasing sales across national retailers.

Solution

Packaging Design for New Product Range

For Simoniz, our first project involved designing premium packaging for their new Protection Range. Having already successfully rebranded the Simoniz standard car care range, we were tasked with developing a high-end design for this exclusive Halfords launch. The packaging had to reflect superior quality and performance, leading us to develop a sleek, silver shield motif to symbolize both protection and cleanliness. The labels were printed on a silver material, with overprinted design elements creating a metallic shine, reinforcing the premium feel of the range.

Creative Directon for TV Advert

Following the success of the packaging design, Simoniz invited us to pitch a concept for their new Shampoo Tabs TV advert. The client had been disappointed with previous agency proposals, but our fun and engaging creative direction won them over. Our concept placed the Shampoo Tab at the heart of the commercial, with an upbeat and memorable execution that encouraged consumers to “just chuck it in a bucket!”. The campaign extended beyond the TV spot, with Trigger also designing point-of-sale displays, retail packaging (SRP), and a direct mail campaign to support the product’s launch. The commercial was an instant success, and following its release, the product sold out within the first week, surpassing all sales expectations.

National Press Campaign for Product Launch

In a separate campaign for Honeywell Consumer Products, Trigger developed a national press campaign to launch their new range of professional car care products. The concept centered on innovation and rigorous product testing, featuring the tagline: “18 scientists, 58 test methods, 2000 hours of testing = 1 shiny car.” To enhance consumer engagement, we incorporated QR code technology, allowing users to scan the ad with their smartphone and be directed to a custom-built microsite. This digital integration created a seamless experience between print and online, increasing interaction with the brand. The campaign also included an online competition to promote the range and a direct mail campaign targeting car enthusiasts. In addition to the advertising campaign, we designed packaging and POS displays for the product, ensuring a consistent and impactful launch across all touchpoints.

Results

The Simoniz Protection Range launched successfully at Halfords, with its premium design finishreinforcing its positioning as a high-quality car care product. The Shampoo Tabs TV campaign played a crucial role in driving sales beyond expectations, proving the effectiveness of the creative approach. Meanwhile, the Honeywell press campaign successfully integrated traditional and digital media, increasing engagement and brand visibility within the car enthusiast market. Across all projects, Trigger delivered bold, effective, and results-driven creative solutions that enhanced brand identity, drove product sales, and engaged target audiences. Our ability to seamlessly connect packaging, advertising, and digital experiences ensured a successful rollout for each of these high-profile launches.
