The TEN Centre, in collaboration with Salford City Council and the BBC, required creative support for two key projects: the film production of a Creative Careers Day and the design of an engaging Z card to promote their facilities and courses. Both projects needed to be visually impactful, informative, and engaging for students, schools, and professionals in the Salford and MediaCityUK area.
For the Creative Careers Day film, our team developed detailed storyboards alongside a tight shooting schedule to capture the event’s energy and purpose. With two film crews covering multiple venues, including Ordsall Hall, The Lowry Theatre, the BBC, and other businesses in MediaCityUK – we ensured we documented the full scope of the day. In addition to filming, we created the opening and closing graphics to give the final production a polished and professional feel. To enhance the student experience, we also designed a bespoke passport to help pupils navigate locations, engage with industry professionals, and take home a reminder of the day.
For the Z card design, we proposed a pocket-sized, concertina-style leaflet – a compact yet highly effective way to present the TEN Centre’s courses and facilities. Featuring vibrant photography taken at the centre, the design balanced accessibility and impact, ensuring the information was clear, engaging, and easy to digest. The format proved so effective that it was reprinted three times due to demand.
The Creative Careers Day film successfully promoted the diverse career opportunities available in the creative industries, reinforcing to Salford students that these pathways are within their reach. The event was a great success, and the final film provided a lasting resource for future engagement. The Z card brochure became a valuable tool for the TEN Centre, offering a visually engaging way to communicate their services to both schools and professionals. Its popularity led to multiple reprints, demonstrating its effectiveness in raising awareness and interest in the Centre’s offerings.
