HashtagSew, founded by sewing designer and TV demonstrator Jenny Jackson, needed a new website that better reflected the creativity, personality and growing reach of the brand.
The existing Wix website had become restrictive in both functionality and performance, making it difficult to scale the business, improve search visibility and create a seamless shopping experience for customers. The goal was to design and develop a bespoke e-commerce platform that would not only showcase Jenny’s work and sewing expertise, but also support online sales of patterns, subscription boxes and workshops in a much more flexible and engaging way.
We designed and developed a bespoke WordPress e-commerce website tailored specifically to the needs of HashtagSew. The new site was built to feel creative, welcoming and easy to navigate, helping customers explore products, discover workshops and engage with the brand. Alongside the visual redesign, we restructured the content and navigation to improve usability and support future growth.
A full SEO strategy was implemented from the outset, beginning with keyword research to inform page structure, headings and on-site copy. This helped optimise the website for improved search visibility while ensuring content remained natural and user-focused.
The e-commerce functionality was carefully tailored to support multiple product types, including haberdashery, subscription boxes and workshop bookings. Payment systems were integrated with both PayPal and Stripe, alongside bespoke reporting functionality to help simplify financial management behind the scenes.
Additional features included a new blog section to support ongoing content marketing, newsletter sign-up integration with Mailchimp and scalable functionality to allow the business to continue evolving over time.
The new website has given HashtagSew a far more flexible and professional platform to support both sales and brand growth. The bespoke WordPress build allows the business to manage products, workshops and content more efficiently, while the SEO-focused structure has created a much stronger foundation for long-term search visibility. With improved functionality, clearer customer journeys and integrated marketing tools, the website now better reflects the quality and personality of the HashtagSew brand while supporting future expansion.
